position quality reporting systems for chiropractic practices

PQRS:   PQRS means physician quality reporting system. If chiropractors are not using PQRS code to report chiropractic manipulation to Medicare, a 2% penalty can be assigned to those claims. In other words, chiropractic doctors can lose up to 2% of their Medicare reimbursement because they have not submitted PQRS claims.

Your office can meet PQRS requirements by having a certified EHR or by sending the G codes with every claim. You do not have to have a certified EHR to avoid the penalty. You can avoid the penalty by submitting the appropriate G codes every time you bill for an adjustment.

The ACA has compiled a complete guide to the use of PQRS codes for chiropractic. Download the guide here: PQRS Guide..
