Database Utilities
Perform Once a Week
1.) Verify all users have ClinicPro Practice Mangement© / ClinicPro EMR© closed and you will be the only user accessing the program directly from the server.
2.) Open ClinicPro Practice Management© and navigate to the File Menu and select Database Utilities.
3.) Check the checkboxes in the dialog box that appears in this order: All Files, Reindex, Validate IDs (*Note: All files, Reindex, ValidateID’s should be run once a week. [Beginning of day])
Reindex: Recreates all indexes across the database to increase speed of searching tables to display the user the information. If indexes are incorrect or out of date, the programs speed will decrease immensely. Also, if there is information that appears to be mismatched, the validation of the ID’s are incorrect and this function needs run.
Validate IDs: Verifies that the relationships for referential integrity are correct among the roughly 90-110 tables that compose ClinicPro Practice Management©.
4.) Right-Click on the Appointment Scheduler Icon, and select Utilities > Reindex. There will not be any notifications when this process completes, but should take no longer than one minute for this process to complete. The Appointment Scheduler Database is entirely separate from the ClinicPro Database. Steps 1-3 handle the ClinicPro Database.
