Question: Where does ClinicPro stand on ICD10 and Medicare compliance?
Answer: ICD10 will be released in August 2015. Medicare compliance is already done.
We had the programming done for ICD 10 prior to its release last year. We haven't released the program yet and don't intend to until third quarter of this year. It's been our experience that people jump the gun, and get rejections and blame us. We are trying to avoid that. We are currently testing with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan so there is no need for you to contact them. When we release the ICD 10 codes update, it will include the ability to perform crossover. Essentially, we will present the ICD9 codes that you are currently using along with the comparable ICD 10 codes. Where it gets confusing is this: some ICD-9 codes have three or four possible ICD 10 codes. Your office will have to choose the ones that are most appropriate. Some ICD-9 codes have no comparable ICD 10 codes. You will then have to choose the ICD 10 codes that best fit the patient's diagnosis. As much as possible, Clinic Pro will assist by providing a complete list of ICD 10 and a crossover guide to help you convert from ICD-9 to ICD 10. Hope this answers your questions.
